Free training plans are often very generic and not tailored to the runner, and while personalised training plans can be purchased from a coach they are always extremely expensive. Zoazi fills the gap between these by providing free, customised training plans that are designed to fit each runner’s ability, lifestyle and goals.
Why Have a Training Plan?
If you have specific goals for your running, it’s important to have a realistic plan for how to achieve them. Breaking your training into weekly blocks gives you manageable steps towards your target, and Zoazi’s personalised progress tracking helps motivate you as the weeks go by. A well-targeted training plan helps you to achieve optimal performance without over-training and causing injury.
Your body needs time to gradually adapt to a new pattern of training, so it’s important not to push too hard until you’re ready!
The Zoazi Plan
Zoazi’s training plans are based on scientifically proven, tried and tested fundamentals. We use a phase-based approach to gradually build up your weekly mileage before introducing tougher sessions to build your strength and speed.
Each session has a specific purpose, and combine to give you the best preparation possible. After registering for a free Zoazi account, a short questionnaire provides us with information on your current level of training and your goals. Zoazi then generates a training plan that is tailored to you, with each week’s sessions laid out to maximise your running performance. The plan finishes with a taper phase which reduces the volume in the final days but keeps the intensity of the sessions to ensure that you’re in peak condition at the end of the plan.
Suitable for All Levels
Whether you’re a complete beginner or have been running for years, Zoazi’s training plans will help you to achieve your goals. If you’re running for the first time, Zoazi will take you through an introduction phase with sessions that mix jogging and walking, gradually building you up to a 20-minute continuous run. If you already run regularly but want to start taking things more seriously, then your training plan will ensure you start out at the right level for you, introducing tempo and interval sessions to ensure optimal performance.
If you’re entering a race, Zoazi allows you to set the end of your training plan on your race date to ensure that you peak at the right time. If you have a specific target time, Zoazi will provide a suggested pace range for your running so that each session helps to work towards that target.
You decide how you want to train. Zoazi offers four levels of training – Easy, Medium, Hard and Olympian – designed to push you at a level that’s right for you. The level you choose will determine which phases make up your plan and how quickly the training intensity builds up.
An Adaptive Training Plan
Zoazi’s training plans fit around your lifestyle and can adapt as your circumstances change. You select which days you’re able to run, and Zoazi fits your weekly sessions into your available days. You can specify one or more days for Zoazi to schedule your longest run each week. If you are unavailable for a session, then you can drag it to a different day on the calendar to adjust your plan as you go. If you need to change how often you run or which days you’re available, then you can edit your plan accordingly. As you progress through your training plan you can adjust the difficulty too, making it harder if you want to push yourself, or ease back if you’re starting to find it too tough.
Track Your Progress
Zoazi can record your feedback on each session with enhanced analytics. We compare your performance against the session you were set. Zoazi shows you your overall progress through your plan as well as providing you with weekly summary emails, maximising your running insights!
